Karen Jamieson receives 2013 Mayor’s Arts Award

On November 19, 2013 the City of Vancouver announced the recipients of the prestigious 2013 Mayor’s Arts Awards. This year, artists and philanthropists from a range of disciplines have been recognized for their contribution to the arts sector. Prolific artist Karen Jamieson has been chosen as the honoree in dance — an appropriately timed achievement as the Karen Jamieson Dance Society celebrates its 30th anniversary. Jamieson selected Josh Martin (605 Collective) as an outstanding new-generation dance artist who represents the bright future of dance in Canada.
