Dancers and teachers from Mark Morris Dance Group’s Dance for PD program are collaborating with participants from the Toronto Dancing with Parkinson’s group and students from the Nelson Mandela Park Public School on the L’Allegro Movement Project. On June 19, they present an inter-generational public performance as part of the Luminato Festival at Daniels Spectrum in Regent Park in Toronto.
The performance will utilize choreography from Mark Morris’ masterwork L’Allegro, il penseroso ed il moderato — receiving its Canadian premiere June 21-23 at the festival — and also features the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir.
A post-performance panel and Q&A will further explore the creative and expressive possibilities of movement for those with Parkinson’s disease. The event is free — more details at luminatofestival.com
