Nikola Steer is a multidisciplinary artist, educator and curator. She has spent sixteen years as a world-touring burlesque headliner Coco Framboise. She has also served as the Director of Programming and Creative Director of the Toronto Burlesque Festival.
In addition to burlesque, Nikola creates work in a variety of forms including dance, photography, film, writing, visual art, and performance art. She is the creator of the afrofuturistic dance and performance art persona, Coco Paradise. With the support of her first grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, Nikola is currently building a major multidisciplinary, multimedia work called The Ghost Apartment.
