Aviva Fleising is currently the Interim Managing Director of the Canadian Dance Assembly where she has held various positions since 2008. She has participated in many committees including the Dora Awards jury, the Canada Dance Festival Strategic Advisory Group and the Performing Arts Alliance. Most recently Aviva travelled to Dance/USA and One Dance UK pursuing research to examine the evolving role of service organizations. Aviva holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Contemporary Dance from the University of Calgary and a Certificate in Arts & Cultural Management from Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton. Also a practicing artist, Aviva has produced two full-length interdisciplinary productions as well as a number of shorter works. An emerging playwright, her short play Last Call won first prize in the King’s Shorts 10 minute play Festival in Annapolis Royale, Nova Scotia.
