Savion Glover choreographed and performed (via motion capture) the tap-dancing penguin Mumble in the beloved animated movie Happy Feet.
The Tony Award-winning hoofer and choreographer describes his unique style of tapping as “free style hard core”. He returns to The Royal Conservatory’s Koerner Hall in Toronto this weekend with SoLe Sanctuary (his sold-out performance of SoLo iN TiME brought down the RCM house in 2011), a show he has dedicated to fellow tappers Gregory Hines, Charles Honi Coles and Jimmy Slyde, among others.
Check out the master tapper as Mumble the penguin, or as his own fine self here.
