> Happy International Dance Day!!! One of the most epic experiences, dancing alongside the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra performing the Rite of Spring right behind you. What an amazing opportunity it was to perform alongside them for numerous years. I also had to get 8 stitches in my hand on the morning of opening night from pitting an avocado and the show had tumbling passes and over 50 lifts. What a night!! Phewf!!! On April 29, dancers from around the world celebrated International Dance Day and, in Canada, we linked socially with #CanadaDances. (See videos and boomerangs below). There were many incredible photos and videos. Featured here are a handful of posts from the day. With so many entries, it was challenging to pick a winner. This year The Dance Current and the Canadian Dance Assembly selected a winning photo and a winning video.

The winning photo is from Drive Dance and the winning video is from Miss Coco Murray! Both winners will receive a prize pack from The Dance Current and the Canadian Dance Assembly, which includes a one-year digital subscription to The Dance Current.
