The Tartan Terrors: Whiskey Before Breakfast

By Julye Huggins

Back in March, the Canadian Irish band The Tartan Terrors toured twelve cities in the United States to promote their eighth CD release, Whiskey Before Breakfast. This video shows clips from their show in Lake Placid, New York. The show celebrates Celtic heritage through music, dance and comedy, and includes a cast of championship calibre performers. Among the highlights of their international touring, their members have been invited to perform for President Clinton, Queen Elizabeth II, and Good Morning America, as well as at many prestigious festivals, highland games and theatres across North America.Their roster of highland dancers features Katie Jamieson, Chrissy Cvetkovic, Reanne Ghadban, Alex Moore and Ellen Wilkes Irmisch. Spicing up the shows with a contemporary twist, the dancers also bring to the table their talents in Irish, French-Canadian and east coast step dancing, as well as ballet, tap and jazz. Some of their notable pieces include a lyrical tribute to women and families dealing with breast cancer, as well as more comedic ballet parodies. Check out the video below to see Death of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
