Shaping Sound Tours

The very first winner of the TV show So You Think You Can Dance (United States) in 2005 was Nick Lazzarini. The dancer/choreographer co-founded Shaping Sound in 2011, a Los Angeles-based dance company, with Travis Wall (SYTYCD second season runner-up), and popular stars Teddy Forance and Kyle Robinson. Shaping Sound took off the year it was founded, while the group starred in their reality dance TV show All the Right Moves. Shaping Sound is dedicated to creating opportunities for contemporary performers, to teaching and to being role models for young dancers through performances and workshops. Their goal is to make contemporary dance a mainstream form of entertainment. This winter, the company undertakes a North American-wide tour, making three Canadian stops in Ontario – in Ottawa Februrary 5, Kitchener Februrary 6 and Mississauga Februrary 7. Shaping Sound is a contemporary dance company that fuses jazz, modern and hip hop and, on this tour, features sixteen dancers.

Shaping Sound is featured in the January/February 2015 issue.
