Presented by the Royal Academy of Dance, the En Avant Dance Teacher Conference concentrated on teaching as well as the business side of the profession. The four-day conference covered a range of topics throughout seventy-eight seminars, panel discussions and movement workshops.

The School of Alberta Ballet’s Edmonton Studios hosted an open house on May 15 to celebrate their September move to a larger facility.

In 2010, South Asian Arts began teaching the first university-accredited bhangra course in North America at Simon Fraser University. On April 7, 2011, for their final project, the students performed a Bhangra Flash Mob outside Rogers Arena in Vancouver, immediately following the unveiling of Roger Neilson’s statue before a Canucks game.
