NDH/Rouge Gorge presents The Pelican Project. The project consists of free workshops, classes and a parade, and is a partnership with the 27th International Ornithological Congress, Vancouver International Bird Festival and The Dance Centre. The Pelican Project explores the relationships between art and nature through sound, movement and visuals. Conceived and designed by NDH/Rouge-gorge Co-Artistic Directors Robin Poitras and Edward Poitras (from Saskatchewan), it features guest artists Yvonne Chartrand, Marcus Merasty, Kana Nemoto, Krista Solheim, and I-Ying Wu, who lead a series of free community movement classes including Metis jigging and Tai Chi, as well as a participatory multi-arts workshop.
